WIT Logo

Some disaster I had to queue for over an hour today and I found out after that I didnt even have to be there today and I could have collected it on the morning of the graduations. Stupid WIT not keeping me informed as usual and sending me a letter telling me to be in WIT today at 3pm.

Anyway this is a warning to the rest of you, be ready for the queue if you attend today or during any of the days leading up to Friday. My advice is head down to college street campus in the evening before 7 or early on the morning of the graduations :o )

Cant wait til Friday anyway, should be a good session, hope ye all have the drinking caps on.

In my many years staring at Internet Explorer I never sat back and thought wow this is brilliant. It never excited me or made me feel like rushing back to use the Internet. Firefox has changed all this and this is no exaggeration I promise you.

If you’re like most computer users, you view the web with Microsoft’s Internet Explorer (”IE”) browser. You probably do this not because you compared it with other browsers and found it to be better, but because it’s what comes with your computer, and it works well enough. In fact, you may be unaware that there are even any other worthwhile browsers you can choose from.

Well, I’m here to tell you that you do indeed have a choice of which browser to use, and if it weren’t for the fact that IE came with your computer, I seriously doubt you would choose it for its merits. Keep reading and I’ll try to convince you to change the way you browse the web.

And before you ask I am not working for Mozilla or do not get any commission for promoting this browser. It has simply revolutionised the way you navigate around the internet allowing you to skip between pages with ease.

Firefox empowers you to browse faster, more safely and more efficiently than with any other browser.

Why Use Firefox?
Popup Blocking
Stop annoying popup ads in their tracks with Firefox’s built in popup blocker.

Tabbed Browsing

View more than one web page in a single window with this time saving feature. Open links in the background so that they’re ready for viewing when you’re ready to read them.

Privacy and Security
Built with your security in mind, Firefox keeps your computer safe from malicious spyware by not loading harmful ActiveX controls. For this alone in my opinion its worth its weight in gold

Setup’s a Snap
At only 4.7MB (Windows), Firefox takes just a few minutes to download over a slow connection and seconds over a fast connection. The installer gets you set up quickly, and the new Easy Transition system imports all of your settings - Favorites, passwords and other data from Internet Explorer and other browsers - so you can start surfing right away.

Hassle-Free Downloading
Files you download are automatically saved to your Desktop so they’re easy to find. Fewer prompts mean files download quicker.

Fits Like a Glove
Simple and intuitive, yet fully featured, Firefox has all the functions you’re used to - Bookmarks, History, Full Screen, Text Zooming to make pages with small text easier to read, etc…
S, M, L or XL—It’s Your Choice

Firefox is the most customizable browser on the planet. Customise your toolbars to add additional buttons, install new Extensions that add new features, add new Themes to browse with style, and use the adaptive search system to allow you to search an infinite number of engines. Firefox is as big or small as you want.

The biggest downfall to using Firefox is that sometimes you’ll run into a poorly-designed web page that is written specifically for IE, and will load incorrectly (or not at all) in other browsers. You may be wondering what those logos are XHTML & CSS LOGO that say “XHTML” and “CSS”. These are two standards for writing web pages that the worldwide community agreed on so that pages will load correctly in all browsers, and which the staff at Event Ireland take great care in adhering to.

These two standards are supported very well by Firefox, but unfortunately Microsoft cannot say the same about IE. It may be years before Microsoft catches up. In the meantime, many people who write web pages are less likely to make sure they follow these standards. So even if you agree with me that Firefox blows IE out of the water, you’ll still want to keep IE around for those “broken” pages that don’t follow the rules.

Anyway thats enough rambling, if you want to give Firefox a try, you have nothing to lose. Try it out, and if you don’t like it, remove it and go back to IE. Firefox will even import all of your favorites, home page, and many other settings so you can be up and running right away. If you’re ready to give it a try, Firefox Free Download

And, if after all this, you still decide IE is for you, that’s fine. But at least don’t make the mistake of using an inferior program, simply because you didn’t know there were others out there!

No you are not seeing things, Liverpool are seeking a Getafe player LOL

Getafe president Angel Torres has put a price on the head of the club’s star striker Riki.

Riki has scored four times this season as Getafe have soared to the top of the Primera Liga and that has sparked rumours of interest from other clubs, not least European champions Liverpool.

Deportivo La Coruna tried to buy the 25-year-old during the summer and now Rafael Benitez is thought to be interested in taking Riki to Anfield, where he could solve the club’s search for both goals and a player able to perform on the wing.

Come on are we that desperate? I think not. Cisse will come good in my opinion if he is played in a central role and produce the goals for us week in week out. His confidence will soar after yesterday’s brilliant free kick. Don’t get me wrong he is not perfect, he is very eccentric, but I believe that given time on the pitch he will be an Anfield hero :o )

In my opinion Mori should be going in the Jan transfer window, even though I nearly wet myself when we signed him and also I have the number 19 on the back of my jersey. But alas, he cannot keep up with the physical strength of England & he is a few yards short of pace.

To my surprise the bean pole ‘Crouch’ has been very impressive and I must admit I was one of the people who was totally against him signing. But he needs to score a few goals and build confidence to back his trojan like performances.

Lets have a good result wednesday night now Liverpool
